INCF Programs

INCF programs represent long-term strategic undertakings to address issues of high importance to specific subfields of the neuroscience community.

Program workflowThe establishment of an INCF program includes a multi-step process. Each program delivers products and services, and develops standards and guidelines for the particular field.

Products and services are developed and/or delivered by the INCF Secretariat, INCF National Nodes, or external partners.

Standards and guidelines are developed by experts that are part of an Oversight Committee, Task Forces, and a Reference Group.

The Oversight Committee consists of approximately 10 prominent experts in the field, who will determine the overall scope and organization of the effort, monitor progress, and set up Task Force(s) to execute concrete actions.

Task Forces are composed of approximately 10 technical experts, with possible overlaps with the Oversight Committee. Each Task Force is ad hoc for a specific task.

The Reference Group consists of 40-50 stakeholders and representatives from the scientific community with a particular interest in the area covered by the program. They guide the execution of tasks in order to meet and deliver best community value, and assist in finalizing the standards and guidelines generated by the Task Forces and Oversight Committee.
